- Programming, operating, and maintaining CNC mills, CNC lathes, and conventional lathes
- Reviewing samples, technical drawings, blueprints and schematics, or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Taking measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping
- Determining and programming size of batches and speed of machines
- Checking output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Technical degree in CNC Machining or extensive experience as a CNC lathe machinist in an industrial environment
- Ability to program equipment using Fanuc G-code and M-code
- Ability to drill, tap and de-bur various parts
- Skilled in reading and using calipers and tape measures accurately
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials
- Proficient in algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
