Optometric Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality eye care services to our patients. You will play a crucial part in the patient experience by performing various clinical tasks, managing medical records, and supporting the overall operations of our optical practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary tests including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments, fundus photography, and visual fields.
• Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Preliminarily refract patients to prepare for optometrist's time with patients.
• Manage and maintain medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.
• Respond to patients inquiries regarding prescriptions, questions, and medical issues.

Requirements/Preferences

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in managing medical records and understanding of relevant software applications.
• Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar medical office environment is preferred, but not necessary.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology and anatomy is preferred, or willingness and ability to learn.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
