Job Overview:
Premiere Builders and Remodeling, a trusted leader in general contracting services with over 12 years of experience, is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented In-Office Permit Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing all permitting tasks for ongoing and future projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects meet local permitting requirements and that we maintain excellent communication with both the office staff and building departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Permit Submissions & Tracking:
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and tracking of all permit applications for new and ongoing projects.
- Ensure all permits are submitted accurately and promptly to avoid delays.
- On-Site Inspections:
- Conduct on-site inspections as required by local building authorities.
- Coordinate with project managers to schedule inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Communication with Staff & Building Departments:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the office team and building departments.
- Maintain open, professional communication with local authorities to resolve any issues related to permits and inspections.
- Update the office staff regularly on permit statuses and inspection results.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on the status of permits for weekly and monthly updates to management.
- Ensure that all permitting documents are properly stored and easily accessible for reference.
- Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge:
- Stay current with local building codes, ordinances, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation comply with legal requirements and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in permit processing or construction industry-related roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Other Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct on-site inspections as needed.
- Must be able to work in an office environment and communicate effectively with various departments.
