What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Cleaning Sup position at Premiere Building Maintenance?
A General Cleaning Supervisor is an employee assigned to oversee work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments, assign daily duties, inspect work and perform janitorial services. Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs duties at the direction of the Contract Manager
- Daily verbal and/or written communication with subordinates and management
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas
- Assigns needed coverage
- Gives special cleaning instructions and/or assignments
- Ascertains compliance with directives.
- Conducts inspections and investigates tenant complaints of the building to check for cleanliness
- Advises employees of found conditions and methods of correction
- Inspects equipment for cleanliness
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Dusting
- Dust mopping
- Damp mopping
- Picking up trash
- Emptying trash
- Spot cleaning walls
- Spot cleaning carpet
- Vacuuming carpet
- Cleaning rest rooms
- Cleaning glass and desk tops
- Performing other similar and related duties as assigned by the Contract Manager
Requirements
- Must pass background check
- Must have supervising experience.
- Ability to build relationships with both the client and employees
- Ability to stay on task while working independently
- Ability to manage people, previous management/leadership experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies used in large-scale janitorial activities of the service.
- Thorough knowledge of the qualities, adaptability, and uses of common tools, equipment, and materials used in janitorial service industry.
