Audio Visual Lead Technician

The AV Lead Technician will lead, coordinate and oversee all aspects of the installation and commissioning process of assigned integration projects at customer sites, including unboxing, assembling, installing, and testing low-voltage systems such as security, cameras, AV, lighting, and/or shading equipment. The Lead Technician will work closely with the Foreman and Project Manager to ensure jobs are delivered professionally and are on time and within budget. The Lead Technician communicates directly with customers, employees, and subcontractors and is responsible for managing installation scope, planning, and tracking to ensure job completion. This will entail coordinating workflow within the unit and operating as a company liaison.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Execute the installation, integration, commissioning, configuration, and testing of equipment installation at our customer sites.

· Provide guidance and training for technicians on installation best practices.

· Perform cable pull-paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, crimp and terminate audio and video cables.

· Provide guidance and training for technicians on installation best practices.

· Read and interpret AV System drawings, schematics, and construction plans.

· Report job progress and issues to the Lead Technician or Project Manager at the end of each workday.

· Assemble/disassemble appropriate supports/mounts. Properly explain the importance of safety and professionalism toward optimal job performance to the field daily.

· Must have documented experience in pro audio and video system integration.

· Experience in Structural installation of displays, screens, and projectors.

· Basic understanding of AV and network test equipment and network topology.

· Capable of logically and systematically troubleshooting issues.

· Must possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

· Must be detail-oriented and possess great organizational skills.

· Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work well with others.


Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams.

· Ability to manage projects and customers at various stages of the project life cycle.

· Ability to manage 2-8 technicians and/or subcontractors across multiple projects and sites simultaneously.

· Ability to maintain project schedules, reports, job tracking, and work orders.

· Ability to plan and generate task lists for technicians to follow, daily updates of job sites, and train technicians.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret installation manuals, processes, and procedures.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, and customers.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Basic Smartsheet Knowledge

· Must be OSHA 30 Certified


Education and Experience:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Certifications and/or licenses (list only if required or preferred; should be relevant to the position.

· 3-5 years of experience integrating large-scale audiovisual systems.

· Associated certifications are a plus: (CTS; Crestron; Extron; Polycom; Biamp, etc)

· Must have basic computer skills and basic Office 365 software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
