The Protein Procurement Replenishment Analyst role provides essential support to the protein procurement function with the purchasing of pork, poultry, data analysis, supplier evaluations, and market trend assessments. - Data Collection and Market Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data on protein market trends, including pricing fluctuations, supply availability, and demand forecasts, to provide insights for procurement decisions.
- Monitor commodity markets for protein sources, staying informed on factors that impact costs, such as seasonal trends, weather conditions, or geopolitical events.
- Develop and maintain market intelligence reports, tracking trends that influence protein prices and availability, helping the procurement team adapt strategies proactively.
- Supplier Performance Scorecard Management
- Maintain and update supplier scorecards that assess performance on key metrics, such as quality, delivery timeliness, pricing consistency, and compliance with contract terms.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations using quantitative and qualitative data, identifying any areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
- Present supplier performance insights to procurement leaders, recommending actions such as renegotiating terms, implementing corrective actions, or exploring alternative suppliers.
- Cost Analysis and Budget Support
- Analyze purchasing data to assess total cost of ownership (TCO) for protein materials, including direct costs (price per unit) and indirect costs (transportation).
- Support the procurement team in budget management by tracking and forecasting costs, highlighting variances, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

- Purchase Order (PO) Management and Inventory Coordination

- Monitor POs throughout the purchasing process, addressing any issues related to delays, discrepancies, or changes in order quantities.
- Supplier Credits
- Coordinate with suppliers and finance teams to capture all eligible credits, optimizing the cost-effectiveness of protein procurement.
- Provide regular reports on supplier credits, helping the procurement team measure the effectiveness of supplier partnerships.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation Support
- Analyze potential risks in the protein supply chain, such as supplier dependency, price volatility, or disruptions due to regulatory changes.

What you’ll bring:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or a related area.
- Experience and Background:
- 2-3 years of strategic sourcing experience, ideally focused on direct categories.
- Practical experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies for meat products, particularly pork and poultry.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, including pricing mechanisms and supply chain dynamics.
- Key Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively deliver presentations.
