About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner uses clinical judgments to conduct health assessments, make differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments. They plan and implement care through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify patients' clinical problems and health needs.
- Record physical findings, formulate plans, and provide written home-going instructions.
- Collaborate with Physicians and other healthcare professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans.
- Prescribe or recommend medications or therapeutic procedures.
- Refer patients to Physicians for consultation or specialized health resources.
- Maintain medical records and educate nursing staff on best practices.
Requirements
- All RN licenses/certificates to practice
- All nurse practitioner licenses/certificates to practice
- State Prescriptive Authority (if applicable)
- Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable)
- Current national certification (ANCC or AANP required)
- Master Degree in Science of Nursing (if Master Degree in Science certificate does not state Nursing on it then a copy of transcripts is required)
- CPR Certification must include 'hands on' evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor.
Preferred Experience
- At least three years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory care setting.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
