Caregiver/Companion

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and those requiring assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive care and support. This role is vital in fostering independence and dignity for those we serve.

Duties

• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene maintenance.
• Assist clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
• Monitor patients' health by observing their condition and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
• Support clients in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping tasks.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Document care provided and any significant observations during each visit or shift.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, including social workers and hospice care providers, to deliver comprehensive support.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or physical disabilities is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and patient care best practices.
• Familiarity with home health care standards and protocols.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training in social work or caregiving is advantageous.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 32 per week
