Role Description
Assist Operations with inventory management and operation of the plant’s work-in-process, as well as to assist with the plant’s re-mill system. Communicates with Operations and the Materials Manager to ensure that optimal inventory management decisions are being made. Analyzes the work-in-process and finished goods inventory situation to provide recommendations and, as appropriate, to assist in inventory management decisions. Manages activities of the Department through a subordinate supervisor concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform all job duties with health safety and food safety as the number one priority.
• Communicates with Operations and the Materials Manager to ensure that optimal inventory management decisions are being made.
• Analyzes the bin inventory situation to provide recommendations and, as appropriate, to assist in inventory management decisions.
• Required to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
• Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
• Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable stock.
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
• Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Studies and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
• Adjust errors and complaints.
• Manages four twelve-hour shifts running 7 days a week and three eight-hour shifts running Monday through Friday.
• Supervises two subordinate night shift supervisors and two team leaders running the 12-hour shifts.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary : $72,000 - $90,000
