Title: Preferred Supplier Account Manager
Location: Burlington, MA
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid/Remote
The Account Manager for Preferred Suppliers is responsible for managing and enhancing the relationships with key strategic suppliers. This role focuses on driving platform and service adoption, ensuring Supplier satisfaction, and maximizing value delivery. The Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of Preferred Suppliers and collaborate with internal teams to support growth initiatives while maintaining and expanding Supplier accounts. This person is ultimately responsible for the success and delivery of value to the Preferred Suppliers they manage.
Key Responsibilities:
Preferred Supplier Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned strategic Suppliers, fostering long-term relationships.
- Understand each Supplier's business goals and challenges to deliver tailored solutions and ensure high satisfaction and retention rates.
- Conduct regular business reviews with Suppliers to ensure alignment and value realization.
- Act as a strategic advisor, managing Supplier expectations and ensuring success, growth, and long-term successful relationships
- Resolve escalated Supplier issues and concerns in a timely manner.
- Lead negotiations for Supplier agreements, renewals, and long-term contracts, collaborating with Sales, Finance, and CS teams.
- Develop, maintain, and execute account plans to promote Preferred Supplier growth and success.
- Drive growth initiatives to increase success and value delivery of existing Suppliers, including increasing new customer logos and market exposure via platform placement and promos.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet Supplier needs, address feedback, and improve the customer experience.
- Represent the Supplier's voice internally to advocate for their interests and inform product development
Supplier Success Initiatives:
- Oversee the implementation of strategies aimed at improving Supplier satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
- Monitor Supplier health metrics and proactively address risks to mitigate churn.
- Collaborate with the Onboarding team to ensure an exceptional and efficient onboarding process.
- Document and manage all Supplier interactions, issues, and resolutions within the CRM system.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Supplier interactions and data.
- Regularly report on account status, performance, and Supplier feedback to senior management.
- Analyze Supplier data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, leveraging this information for strategic decision-making.
Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) & Status Meetings:
- Own the preparation and delivery of QBR presentations for Suppliers, ensuring alignment on performance, goals, and next steps.
- Ensure QBRs are followed up with clear action items and strategic recommendations.
- Lead and facilitate bi-weekly and monthly status meetings with Suppliers to discuss performance, updates, and any potential issues.
- Ensure all meeting notes and follow-ups are properly documented and communicated to relevant internal teams.
Invoice and Marketing Oversight:
- Conduct quarterly invoice reviews with Suppliers, ensuring accuracy and addressing any discrepancies.
- Lead and support marketing outreach initiatives, ensuring Suppliers are aware of and engaged in available marketing opportunities.
- Identify and present paid marketing and promotional opportunities to Suppliers to increase visibility and business outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- 4 years of experience in client management, including working with senior supplier or account contacts.
- Proven ability to manage account growth and upsell opportunities effectively.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Data-oriented, with a consultative approach to optimizing Supplier engagement and value delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with CRM systems for managing supplier accounts and interactions.
