What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Technician position at PREP Atlanta?
PREP needs a trusted Facilities Maintenance Technician that is heavily knowledgeable in HVAC and Refrigeration for a Commercial Kitchens Facility. Hours will be mostly Mon-Fri daytime, with some after hours, weekend/on-call for emergencies as needed.
This position is responsible for performing various skilled and semi-skilled duties in repairing and maintaining the building, equipment, machinery, and grounds.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Maintain and repair PREP owned equipment: Hood Exhausts, Boilers, Cooking equipment, lift gates, access gates, ice machines, etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, Refrigeration, Exhaust fans, and Ice machines with the Ops/Maintenance team. To include the replacement of worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, belts, and filters in machines and equipment.
- Performs routine work in the repair and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the building. To include Gates/Fences, Drywall, Gutters, Buildings structure and roofing, Facilities parking lot, Flooring, Ceiling, Light fixtures, Doors/locks, Painting, Pressure washing
- Completes facility unit flips for new member move ins. To include cleaning, wall patching, floor/wall painting, repairing/replacing light bulbs/light fixtures, repairing/replacing outlets, vents, conducting minor plumbing fixture repairs, installation/removal of sinks
- Communicate with members regarding maintenance needs/requests and completes such requests
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition per manufacturer recommendations and comply with applicable safety rules.
- Helps the Operations/Maintenance team implement cost savings on projects/repairs needed throughout the facilities
- Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
- Take after hour emergency calls, including weekends
- Manage member concerns or deficiencies and ensure a timely resolution so that all needs of the facility are seen to
- Physically walk the property and member kitchens on a frequent basis and note any improvements needed from inspections.
- Provide attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Has clear, professional and concise communication skills, verbal and written
- Flexible, able to multitask and properly prioritizes job duties/projects
- Proactive, able to manage projects on own, and enjoys working autonomously
- Studies operations and finds out where improvements can be made, and implement solutions

We are looking for an experienced full-time Facility Maintenance Technician. We will only consider a candidate who is a self-starter & who has had significant prior maintenance experience. Being detail-oriented, highly communicative, and having the ability to multitask are crucial for success in this role.
Requirements · You must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma/GED, and previous experience in building maintenance · Able to climb ladders, climb stairs, lift heavy objects, crawl and crouch in access areas, attics, under sinks, etc. · Thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. · Completes necessary paperwork and online service requests as required. · Willing to work overtime as needed and be on-call for emergencies. · Interface with service vendors, inspectors & members. · Respond to work orders and provide assessment of needed repairs/work to Operations Manager. · Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a hard work ethic · Reliable, friendly, and detail oriented. · Work with a positive and friendly attitude · Learn surroundings of the facility in a timely manner

Experience:
Maintenance: 3 years (Required)
HVAC/Refrigeraiton: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification: EPA certified (Required)

Job Type: Full-time – 40 hours a week, more if needed for after hour emergencies
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. After hours as needed, weekends as needed
Pay: $25-$28 an hour depending on HVAC/refrigeration experience
