Saw Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team.

The position will operate a CNC Panel Saw Machine and is responsible of maintaining set production rates. They are also responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate and monitor saws and cutting machinery to ensure efficient production processes.
• Will setup and confirm machine settings as dictated by the materials being processed
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting specifications.
• Responsible for performing hourly checklist and completing daily production records.
• Perform quality inspections of finished products using precision measuring instruments.
• Notify lead or supervisor of issues related to quality and completion
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation, and record any concerns.
• Utilize CNC programming skills to optimize cutting processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations including Lock Out, etc.
• Responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance while checking off TPM and Quality Inspection Sheets as well as Tooling Logs.
• Participates in continuous improvement activity.
• Flexibility to be cross trained and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
• Familiarity with quality inspection processes and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to use metric system when dimensioning parts
• Experience with CNC programming is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.

Physical Requirements

Strength and manual dexterity needed to move objects. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching/pushing/pulling material. Associate stands/walks 8 hrs./day. Hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes required. Manufacturing environment.
