About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Functional Designer for Oracle Utility Customer Cloud Services (CCS) to join our team. An Oracle Functional Designer for CCS (Customer Care and Billing) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and the technical implementation of Oracle's CCS software within utility companies (electric, gas, water). In this role, you will be responsible for the functional design, configuration, and implementation of Oracle CCS solutions for our utility clients. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into functional designs, and ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of Oracle CCS and the unique business processes of utility companies.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Understanding Utility Business Processes: They must deeply understand the intricacies of utility operations, including meter-to-cash processes, billing cycles, customer service interactions, rate structures, and regulatory requirements.
- Eliciting Requirements: They conduct workshops, interviews, and document reviews to gather detailed requirements from various stakeholders (billing specialists, customer service reps, meter readers, management).
- Translating into Functional Requirements: They convert these business needs into clear, concise, and testable functional requirements that the technical team can use for configuration and development. This often involves creating use cases, user stories, and process flows specific to utility operations.
- Solution Design and Configuration:
- Designing CCS Solutions: Based on the requirements, they design how CCS will be configured and customized to meet the specific needs of the utility. This includes defining how different modules within CCS will interact and how it will integrate with other utility systems (e.g., meter data management, outage management).
- CCS Configuration: They configure CCS to support the utility's business processes. This involves setting up billing cycles, rate structures, payment processing, customer information management, and other system parameters within CCS.
- Data Modeling and Mapping: They may be involved in designing the data model and mapping data between CCS and other systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
