What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visiting Assistant Professor / Instructor – U.S. Politics / Pre-law Studies position at Presbyterian College?
The Department of Political Science at Presbyterian College invites applications for a two-year
visiting assistant professor / instructor position (with the possibility of renewal) in the field of U.S.
politics and to serve as the College’s Director of Pre-law Studies with a start date of August 15,
2025. Review of applications will begin on Monday, March 17, 2025 and continue until the
position is filled.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching an introductory course in U.S. government and
various courses for the Pre-law Studies minor. Successful candidates will also direct the College’s
established pre-law program and serve as advisor to Pre-law Studies minors. The ideal candidate will
also be able to teach courses outside of pre-law studies or judicial politics, including contributing
other classes to the major and in inter-disciplinary areas. Successful applicants must display a strong
enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to both service and scholarship. Ph.D. preferred, but
ABD will be considered at the rank of instructor versus assistant professor.
