Key Responsibilities of a Cook:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Establish line for each meal period and prepare plates according to resident diets, prepare, all residents late trays.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen. Monitor sanitation procedures for daily, weekly and monthly schedules
- Monitor all hot and cold temperature logs daily
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED - ServSafe Preferred
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.
- Excellent customer service skills
- One year cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare or hospitality setting
