What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry & Housekeeping (Saturday & Sunday 8am - 4pm) position at Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina?
Description
Employee serves Memory Support Neighborhood by cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, kitchen and living areas (60%), preparing and/or coordinating meals for residents (30%), and engaging residents with planned activities (10%).
Essential functions:
- Work with Memory Support Director & Care Partners to implement Resident Engagement Plans and involve residents in normalizing tasks: meal preparation & service, cleaning the building, doing laundry etc.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining Montessori engagement areas and self-initiated activity areas.
- Clean resident rooms, including emptying and removing trash, dusting/damp wiping all surfaces, cleaning & sanitizing bathrooms, dust mopping/damp mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, etc.
- Collect soiled linen and clothing articles from resident rooms; transport soiled linens to the laundry room. Wash personal clothing when requested.
- Change and make beds.
- Maintain resident’s living area by ensuring that it is clean, neat and orderly.
- Clean all common and living areas, including emptying and removing trash, dusting/damp wiping all surfaces, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and bathing areas, dust mopping/damp mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, etc.
- Maintain cleaning cart in a clean and orderly fashion at all times.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of all chemicals.
Requirements
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
