The Columbia Presbyterian Community is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team to create a warm hospitality experience for all our residents, staff and visitors. What You’ll Do:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct clinical care, programs and activities in accordance with the organization, South Carolina Nurse Practice Act Section 40-33-5., State licensing and Federal Certification/RAI guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the survey process, educate and assist the staff in becoming aware and comfortable with the process.
- Coordinate development of a written plan of care (preliminary and comprehensive) and ensure medical nursing care is administered in accordance with the resident’s wishes, including the implication of advance directives, and established organizational, state and federal rules, regulations, laws, policies and procedures.
- Participate in identifying opportunities for quality improvement, developing written QA work plans, implementation and maintenance of an ongoing Quality Assessment &Assurance program that identifies, plans, implements, audits, and uses audit data to determine success and further change needed.
- Take an active role in the admissions process to validate assessment and observation of the resident’s strengths and defects and ensure that the resident will have their needs met under community care.
- Coordinate the interdisciplinary team in implementing the RAI process in accordance with current federal and state rules, regulations and guidelines.
- Validate completion of quarterly assessments, interdisciplinary documentation and MDS assessments, CAA’s and comprehensive plans of care by the interdisciplinary team via review of the resident, communication with the direct care staff, and the resident’s physician and family.
- Assist center in making appropriate Medicare coverage decisions; setting ARD’s; and ensuring additional requirements of the Medicare Program are met, such as physician certification and skilled need.
- Disseminate any new or updated materials involving the RAI process to the interdisciplinary team.
- Ensure timely electronic submission and general validity of all MDS’s to the federal and state database.
What's Required:
- Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
- Two years of clinical experience in the healthcare setting
- One year of experience in a long-term care setting
- One year of experience as MDS Coordinator
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- CPR certified
- Valid SC Driver’s License
