Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse
Job Specialty : PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 12-hour day shifts with a start time of 0700
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in an 18 bed telemetry / progressive care unit required. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
License : Active NM or compact license required
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. BLS and ACLS must be obtained through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
Must-Have : EPIC EMR experience preferred. Must provide or pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia / Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during the first week of assignment.
Job Description :
- Adherence to a 75-mile straight-line radius rule; candidates must not permanently reside within a 75-mile radius from the facility.
- No local travelers allowed.
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
- Required to work at least 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week scheduling period; shifts may fluctuate based on departmental staffing needs.
- On-call, weekends, and holiday coverage may be required.
- Travelers are first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location and to all areas in which they are trained, including the emergency department and alternate holding areas.
- Orientation is included in the first week of the contract, not exceeding 40 total hours, which includes EPIC training.
- Scrubs are required and not provided by the facility.
- No holiday request for time off will be approved for travelers.
- Travelers must not have been an employee of the healthcare system for 12 months from the last day worked to be considered for a travel position.
