Engage the lives of our residents and join our team - we are growing!
Schedule - 5 days a week including occasional evening and Saturday; 9 : 00 am - 5 : 30 pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
tModels a servant attitude towards others
tTakes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
tIs friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers
tEnsure resident / patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
tAssist with the development of activity programs that meet the social, emotional, physical, and other therapeutic needs of the residents within specified budget
tEnsure bulletin boards are current and attractively decorated with seasonal and appropriate decor
tComplete admission quality activities assessments as scheduled / needed
tLead activities, book entertainment, speakers, and coordinate volunteers for your floor
tProvide group or one-on-one activities as required per residents needs
tEncourage all residents to attend activities and participate
tDeliver activity calendars to designated areas
tCoordinate activity events (i.e., set-up, food) with other departments
tMaintain all pets and pet environments, as assigned
tAssist with transportation (in-house and outside) during activities
tAssist with purchasing supplies for your residents as needed for events
tEnhance and develop regular programming, including music programming, on specific floors as assigned by Life Enrichment Manager
tFollow expectations of the dementia training program, in partnership with the cooperation of the nursing staff and Patient Care Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
tHigh School graduate
tBachelors Degree preferred
tPreferred : activity certification from an approved course as required by State of Texas
tPreferred : one or more years working with the elderly in providing group activities
tPreferred : a working knowledge of activities for senior adults
tPreferred : experience working in memory care
tAbility to lead therapeutic activities for varying resident levels
tAbility to organize, document and implement detailed programs
tOutstanding interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm
tAbility to read and write the English language
tAbility to follow State and Federal regulations pertaining to activities
