ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
tModel a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co-workers
tEnsure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
tMaintain good attendance record
tDocument all assessments, reassessments, progress notes, discharge summaries and other clinical work in the medical record per departmental policy and procedure
tProvide resident, family and staff education pertaining to Occupational Therapy modalities to ensure understanding and proficiency of care
tDemonstrates good clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatments in which trained to provide
tOrients, instructs, and directs work activities of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs and Occupational Therapy students
tSupervises and reviews documentation written by the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants as per State Practice Act
tScreening residents to determine their potential benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention
tDevelops, directs and / or participates in Occupational Therapy programming for the residents
tAttends in-services and other meetings as required on an ongoing basis
tMaintains continuing education per state licensure requirements
tOther duties as assigned by the Director of Rehab
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
tLicensed / Registered Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas
tKnowledge of therapy industry and federal, state, and local government regulations
tDemonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
tDemonstrated efficiency strategies for fast paced environment
tExperience in IL / AL / OP setting or mature population rehabilitation and wellness needs Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word, Excel Proficiency in Nethealth documentation system is preferred
tExcellent customer service skills
tGenuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, people with disabilities, and hospice patients
tAbility to perform Essential Duties
