Overview:
1. Assist, guide, or direct resident with daily life activities including:
Personal grooming/hygiene, dressing/undressing, toileting, assisting with urine and bowel incontinence (and/or emptying drainage units), range of motion activities and exercises (ambulating, positioning, lifting) to increase quality of living following established procedures.
2. Guides, organizes, initiates, directs, and assists residents in participation of activities.
3. Prepare and maintain records to document client progress and services performed by
recording in resident chart, use judgment to report changes in client condition to
manager or supervisor for review.
4. Maintain a safe and clean environment, including but not limited to:
Cleaning resident rooms, changing bed linens, vacuum/sweep and mop floors, wash windows, blinds, walls, ceilings, woodwork, cleaning restrooms, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, etc.
5. Clean and maintain all common areas, including but not limited to:
Corridors, restrooms, storage and supply areas, offices, beauty shop, laundry rooms, sitting/activity areas, breakrooms and kitchens. Emptying wastebaskets and transport other trash to waste disposal areas. Dust/polish furniture and fixtures. Wash windows, blinds, walls, ceilings, woodwork, etc. Move and arrange furniture as needed. Clean and disinfect bathrooms using approved cleaning solutions. Replenish bathroom items. Vacuum, sweep and mop and shampoo floors. Disinfect equipment and supplies.
6. Perform healthcare-related tasks, such as monitoring vital signs and administering
medications, under the direction of nurse (LPN or RN).
7. Collect specimens, such as urine, feces, or sputum for testing using proper receptacles
and following safety precautions.
8. Perform a variety of tasks related to food service including but not limited to:
proper techniques and tableware.

Perform any combination of duties to maintain resident’s health and well-being by assisting them with daily living activities such as grooming, eating, dressing, and bathing. Also maintain cleanliness of resident rooms/units and common areas including kitchen and laundry. Assist food service department including the plating, service and clean-up of food service to residents, visitors, and staff. Directs the work of Universal Workers on assigned shift.

Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers.
Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks
with needed items.
Portion and wrap the food, and/or place it directly on plates for service.
Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators,
cupboards, and other storage areas to prevent spoilage.
Plate and serve a variety of foods according to residents orders or supervisors
instructions, following approved procedures.
