We are seeking a passionate and experienced chef/cook to prepare nutritious, balanced, and child-friendly meals for our school. This position involves planning and preparing daily meals, ensuring food safety standards are met, and accommodating any dietary restrictions or preferences. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with children, a deep understanding of nutritional needs for young kids, and experience in a school or daycare kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef, cook, or similar role in a school, daycare, or childcare setting if possible.
- Knowledge of nutrition for children and experience preparing age-appropriate, healthy meals.
- Understanding of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and the importance of food safety.
- Ability to follow recipes, adapt to special needs, and manage time efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or relevant training is a plus.
- Passion for working with children and creating a positive mealtime experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children in a daycare setting, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Manage kitchen inventory and control food supplies efficiently.
- Oversee food preparation and service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Supervise kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and effective communication.
- Collaborate with childcare staff to create a positive dining experience for children.
- Maintain compliance with health regulations and food safety standards.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
