Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Preschool Substitute Teacher to join our team on a temporary, part-time, on-call basis. As a substitute teacher, you will provide high-quality educational experiences for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old in our preschool program. If you are passionate about early childhood education, reliable, outgoing, firm, friendly and are available on an as-needed basis, we encourage you to apply.
Our Substitute Teachers must have:
- Clear background check
- Positive attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Have reliable transportation
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours on short notice

- Hours/days will vary to accommodate the needs of the childcare center
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with curriculum planning and implementation
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with preschool-age children
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise children at all times and maintaining a healthy, safe learning environment
- Document and maintain records of children’s attendance, behaviors, diapering, meal counts/records, etc. as well as ensure each child’s personal supplies are labeled and stored appropriately
- Keep accurate documentation of parents entering and exiting the classroom
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom and restroom throughout the day
- Supervise and facilitate curriculum activities and/or areas to provide positive learning experiences
- Set and maintain appropriate standards for the children’s behavior using non-punitive methods which teach self-discipline while supporting their self-esteem
- Communicates all concerns and needs to supervisors/directors/parents for each child’s care and development
- Establishes and maintains positive and cooperative relationships with staff members and families
- Attends all staff and training meetings as required per assignment
- Use & wear of walkie-talkies and earpieces or other technology as needed
- Attends necessary trainings (including Mandated Child Abuse Reporting) annually
- Additional tasks as needed
