Position Summary
The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial operations, including accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax filings. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in finance and accounting, preferably in a behavioral health or healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will ensure the financial health of Prescott House through effective financial planning, compliance, and strategic fiscal management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports to ensure financial stability.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including coordination with external tax preparers and auditors.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Supervise and support finance staff, providing leadership in day-to-day accounting functions.
- Work closely with the executive team to develop financial strategies and business plans.
- Monitor revenue cycles, billing processes, and reimbursement strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Assist with financial audits and prepare necessary documentation for auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the behavioral health, healthcare, and commercial insurance billing strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software(QuickBooks) and financial reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and compliance regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
