Prescott Industries has an opening for a CNC Programmer to join our team of talented people in our growing manufacturing business. Candidates must be capable of creating programs for CNC machines using CAD / CAM software. Duties include 2D and 3D CAD modeling, drafting, product and process documentation and factory support. You will play a pivotal role in the CNC production processes. You will be a part of the Technical Engineering team where collaboration and innovation occur. Be part of a team specializing in doors and door components across various fields.
Your Responsibilities
Create and modify software programs based on project specifications for CNC machines for all product lines.
Create CAD drawings of doors for employees and customers using AutoCAD software.
Interpret customer machine sheets and hardware templates for doors.
Create stage sheets and machine sheets for production as necessary.
Communicate via email or phone with customers to clarify order details.
Work within QuickBooks to update customer orders.
Collaborate with department heads, managers, and other stakeholders to fully understand the tasks that must be accomplished by the software requested.
Analyze, review, and revise programs as needed to increase operating efficiency or adapt program to new requirements.
Develop and maintain documentation of program development and revisions.
Collect production data for analytics as requested.
Manage the maintenance and tooling for all CNC machines and frame line.
Provide training to CNC Operators.
Your Education and Experience
2-year technical degree required or equivalent education and experience.
3-5 years CNC programming and processing software experience preferred.
Skills We Value
Proficient in use of CAD / CAM software, Autodesk preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, templates, and technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, document processes and procedures.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic-intermediate math.
Thorough knowledge of specialized cutting tool selection.
Knowledge of CNC cutting tool physics and mechanics.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with CNC users and management.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of millwork machinery preferred.
Knowledge of the use of the English and metric measuring system and measuring tools.
G-code knowledge a plus.
3D Modeling experience a plus.
Our Physical Requirements
Frequent periods of standing and walking through the factory.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
