The brainchild of David Ricks, CEO of Lilly, and incubated by Boston Consulting Group’s Digital Ventures, PrescriberPoint is a Series A healthtech firm (L.P.s Lilly, Pfizer, Adobe, MasterCard) focused on helping Health Care Professionals reduce the time, tension, and anxieties they and their patients encounter during the prescribing journey. While only having been commercial for 20 months, we closed last year reaching this year’s targeted YE ARR.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Business Development with pronounced experience in selling technology to the commercial pharmaceutical industry. Reporting directly to the CEO / CRO, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth of our leading-edge HCP marketing solutions. This role requires tested consultative selling skills, in-depth knowledge of commercial infrastructure, strong understanding of current technologies, and the ability to effectively position product features, benefits, and value to diverse stakeholders. Note : lead generation capabilities and networks, while important, are secondary to the above skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Sales Execution : Pursue and close primarily inbound opportunities focusing on key decision-makers from therapeutic areas, commercial, brand, marketing, commercial operations, market access, medical affairs, and patient services functions
Sales Presentations : Conduct engaging presentations and product demonstrations, highlighting the benefits and value of our solutions geared to the specific functional needs of our clients
Negotiation : Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction
Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, specifically marketing, to develop brand-specific presentations and proposals
Product Knowledge : Developing a robust understanding of our solutions and how they impact our client’s needs and metrics
Key Competencies :
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively using a variety of formats to different audiences, including executives, clients, and team members.
Consultative Selling : Ability to creatively sell complex solutions by understanding and navigating sophisticated sales journeys; can pivot pitches based on objections without fluttering an eyelash
Relationship Building : Exceptional networking skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, clients , and internal staff. Ability to leverage existing relationships to drive business growth in both new and existing accounts.
Market Knowledge : In-depth understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Ability to conduct market research and use data to drive business decisions.
Negotiating & Deal Making : Expertise in negotiating deals, partnerships, and contracts. Proven track record of closing complex business deals.
Gets Stuff Done : The ability to plan, prioritize, pivot, project manage, make decisions, update, and delegate as appropriate to meet defined timelines and workstreams and then execute..
Qualifications :
Preferred Bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus
Sales experience servicing commercial pharmaceutical needs with a call out to HCP solutions; topical management consulting backgrounds are also looked on kindly; SaaS focus is nice to have but not mandatory
Startup / early stage experience a big plus
Strong understanding of the HCP-related technology providers, market dynamics, and industry trends is most certainly nice to have
Compensation :
Base : $125k range, depending on experience and location
Bonus : $75K target based on company and personal performance
