Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ceiling Cleaning Crew Chief to lead a team of cleaning professionals specializing in ceiling cleaning, high-reach maintenance, and overhead area sanitation. The ideal candidate will supervise the cleaning crew, ensure safety protocols are followed, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness for ceiling surfaces, lighting fixtures, HVAC ducts, and other elevated structures within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of ceiling cleaning staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
- Delegate ceiling cleaning tasks, ensuring proper coverage of assigned areas and that work is completed within the required timeframes.
- Monitor and evaluate crew performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Ensure team members are trained in ceiling cleaning techniques, the safe operation of high-reach equipment, and the correct handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ceiling & High-Reach Cleaning:
- Oversee and perform the cleaning of ceilings, light fixtures, air ducts, ventilation systems, and other elevated surfaces in commercial or industrial settings.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and extension tools to access high areas safely.
- Inspect ceilings for damage, mold, or other concerns, and report findings to facility management for necessary repairs.
- Clean and maintain ceiling fans, vents, light fixtures, and any other high-mounted features, ensuring they are free from dust, dirt, or debris.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed when working with heights, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment.
- Maintain strict adherence to workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations regarding high-reach cleaning.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used safely, ensuring team members wear appropriate protective gear (e.g., gloves, goggles, harnesses).
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of completed ceiling cleaning tasks to ensure high standards are met.
- Ensure that work is done thoroughly and that no areas are missed during ceiling or high-reach cleaning assignments.
- Address and resolve any quality concerns or issues raised by facility managers or customers.
- Training & Development:
- Train new team members on ceiling cleaning methods, safety procedures, and proper use of high-reach equipment.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement within the team.
- Inventory & Supply Management:
- Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that high-reach cleaning tools are maintained and in good working condition.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals, replacement parts, and equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Maintenance Reporting:
- Report any structural issues, damage, or concerns with ceilings, lighting, or ventilation systems to facility management for further action.
- Provide regular reports on team activities, completed tasks, and any maintenance needs related to ceiling areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in cleaning management or high-reach safety is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in ceiling cleaning, janitorial, or facilities maintenance, with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge and experience with high-reach cleaning equipment such as scaffolding, ladders, lifts, and extension tools.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, particularly when working at heights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and manage a team effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and cleaning supplies.
Additional Information:
- Flexibility in scheduling may be required, after hours and overnight required.
- The position require travel to various sites.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
