Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Custodian to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all building occupants. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness across various settings.
Duties
- Supervise custodial staff and coordinate daily cleaning activities to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming floors.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and address any maintenance issues promptly.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that all materials are stocked and in good working condition.
- Implement safety protocols and best practices for cleaning procedures, including the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep.
- Train new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety measures.
- Maintain records of cleaning schedules, supply usage, and maintenance requests.
Requirements
- Proven experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods and commercial cleaning standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing and polishing.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff and building occupants professionally.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining a clean environment.
- Experience in residential painting is a plus but not required.
