Presidio County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to hire Correctional Officers to join our existing team. Starting pay is $18.32 per hour. Applicants must become fully licensed within one year of their hire date.
Responsibilities for Correctional Officer
- Book and process incoming and outgoing prisoners according to written policies and procedures
- Write detailed and accurate incident reports
- Patrol the interior and exterior of the facility
- Conduct inmate and cell searches
- Inspect visitors and packages delivered to the facility
- Respond to crisis situations as outlined by policies and procedures
- Oversee inmate activities including meals, visitation, and recreation
Qualifications for Correctional Officer
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and psychological test
- Proven ability to react in a calm and collected manner to emergency situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.31 - $18.32 per hour
Expected hours: 42 per week
