Job Description
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer , you will design, develop, and maintain data solutions that help the organization make informed decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting and assessment needs and create BI tools that turn data into actionable insights. This role requires strong skills in data review and BI technologies, with a focus on transforming raw data into valuable information.
The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience in BI engineering, proficiency in SQL and ETL tools, and expertise with BI platforms like Tableau or Power BI. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is required, along with strong analytical skills, attention to data accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
This role will be a hybrid role working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) out of our Deerfield, IL HQ, using Monday and Friday as remote optional days.
What you will be doing :
- Design and implement BI solutions using SQL, ETL tools, and data visualization platforms.
- Gather requirements, define data models, and ensure data accuracy.
- Optimize database structures, queries, and ETL processes for better performance.
- Reporting and Dashboards :
- Create and enhance user-friendly reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Collaborate with users to understand needs and provide self-service reporting tools.
- Data Modeling and ETL :
- Create data models to support business use cases and work with Data Engineers on ETL processes.
- Ensure data quality through cleansing, validation, and error handling.
- Data and Insights :
- Review data to uncover trends and provide actionable insights.
- Develop statistical models and predictive analytics to support decision-making.
- Data Governance and Security :
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
- Work with IT and data teams to establish and enforce governance practices.
- Conduct data profiling and resolve data quality issues.
