GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:The Accountant is responsible for multiple accounting functions including: paying claims, wires payable, accounts receivable, maintaining daily & monthly bank accounts & cash balances, reconciling General Ledger accounts; and analyze financial data.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Reviews all related accounting, bookkeeping records and accounting files and maintains them in an accurate and orderly manner.
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Process accounts receivable and wires payable and backup accounts payable as needed.
- Responsible for month and year end reconciliations of all accounts.
- Prepare monthly reports for company officials, investors, and banks.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports according to US GAAP and regulatory requirements. (Financial statements, general ledger, and journal entries, etc)
- Manage fixed assets (including construction in process)
- Responsible for posting and GL reconciliations (ACH) for payroll, health benefits, and 401k plans
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification preferred
- 3 years of corporate accounting experience is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Advanced mathematical and logical deduction skills
- Attention to detail with analytical and problem‐solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
