Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of their machine shop. The Supervisor will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes while managing production times and staffing requirements to ensure timely delivery of quality products. This role involves mentoring and training team members in best practices, machine operations, and overall shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the machine shop team to work efficiently, utilizing best practices to meet production deadlines
- Oversee production to ensure optimal resource utilization, effective machine scheduling, and high-quality output
- Set up and operate CNC milling and lathe machines
- Collaborate with the Process Supervisor to manage machine output and programming
- Work closely with the engineering team to establish best practices for manufacturability of parts
- Enforce and adhere to workplace safety standards
- Assist team members in other areas when needed to meet daily production goals
- Support problem-solving and continuous improvement within the machine shop
- Maintain effective communication with all teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in CNC machining preferred
- At least 3 years of CNC Programming experience, ideally in FeatureCam
- Knowledge of setting up and operating CNC machinery, including both mills and lathes
- Strong understanding of Fanuc machine controls
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work overtime as required
