Job Summary& &
We are seeking a Housekeeper with hotel room cleaning experience to perform standard housekeeping duties within a hotel setting. The role includes cleaning and servicing assigned guest rooms, maintaining linen carts, collecting dirty service items, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met. The Housekeeper will also assist with training new staff and contribute to maintaining a high level of customer service for faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Key Responsibilities& &
Clean and service assigned guest rooms in a timely manner according to procedures and standards.& &
Maintain cleanliness of assigned facilities and ensure housekeeping standards are met.& &
Inspect and clean public and back-of-house areas, reporting any issues to the supervisor.& &
Collect trash from various hotel areas, including housekeeping carts, vending areas, and restrooms.& &
Collect and deliver clean glasses as needed.& &
Report lost and found items to the supervisor.& &
Shampoo carpets, strip, and wax floors as necessary.& &
Notify guest services (front desk) when rooms are ready for sale.& &
Respond to guest requests and provide excellent customer service.& &
Report needed repairs and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.& &
Organize and maintain linen carts and supplies.& &
Deliver linens and supplies as needed.& &
Assist with heavy items, such as mattresses and soiled linens.& &
Operate washers, dryers, and other equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.& &
Fold clean linens and store them appropriately.& &
Assist in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.& &
Comply with university policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.& &
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Qualifications& &
Proven customer service experience.& &
Ability to speak and write in English.& &
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.& &
Knowledge of all cleaning standards, methods, materials, and equipment.& &
Basic cleaning skills, including room preparation, cleaning carpets, elevators, and stairwells.& &
Ability to use and operate cleaning equipment such as shampoo machines, vacuum cleaners, and waxing machines.& &
Ability to maintain records, logs, and stock, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications& &
Hotel room cleaning experience.& &
Experience with specialized cleaning equipment such as wax / buffing / stripper machines.
