Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician will support the Biotechnology team in developing and evaluating innovative plant breeding methods.

This position involves performing plant tissue culture research activities, executing experiments, and documenting results.

The technician will work collaboratively with team members and independently to accomplish research objectives in a safe and sterile laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform plant tissue culture work, including plant transformation, propagation, and analytical assays of plant tissue samples.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a sterile work environment using aseptic techniques.
• Document experimental details accurately and analyze data to interpret results.
• Record and manage pertinent information using proprietary and standard software applications.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks.
• Proficiency in working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and time management.

• Plant transformation experience in a classroom or industry setting.
