Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of general dentistry practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take medical imaging, including X-rays, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient records management.
- Conduct patient intake, including medical history reviews and updating patient information.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for treatments.
- Assist with endodontic procedures as needed, demonstrating knowledge of relevant techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Dental Assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
- Experience with 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology is desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental setting.
- Familiarity with general dentistry practices, including endodontics.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience in assisting within a dental practice is preferred but not mandatory.
