Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives while promoting their independence and well-being. Your contributions will be vital in assisting clients with daily activities and ensuring their safety and comfort. You will work at our Adult Day Training Center. No nights & no weekends.
Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with meal preparation and ensuring proper nutrition
- Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes in health status
- Supporting social work initiatives by engaging clients in community activities
- Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Providing physical assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Observing patients closely to ensure their safety and well-being
- Adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality
- Collaborating with nursing home staff and other caregivers to provide comprehensive care
- Performing CPR when required and maintaining readiness for emergencies
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following experience or skills:
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles
- Familiarity with care plans and patient observation techniques
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Experience working in a nursing home or similar environment is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable
