What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Maker position at Prestige Mold?

Reporting Relationship:

Production/Project Managers

Position Purpose:

Coordinates and executes activities for the manufacture of plastic injection mold tooling.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

Construct, adapt, and modify plastic injection mold tooling.
Create initial molds based on specifications from design team, blueprints, or schematics.
Confer with quality control, material, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support.
Interpret engineering drawings and facilitate correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
Interpret quality plans and inspect as directed.
Inspection by measuring dimensions, such as length, height, and distance, between reference points, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and CMM, to ensure product meets specifications.
Be able to accurately document and record Inspection results.
Perform incoming inspections on raw materials and finished parts.
Work with close tolerances.
Conduct quality control testing before mold is sampled.
Be able to identify Non-Conformances and generate NCR forms.
Lead quarantine activities when Non-Conformance product/material is identified.
Communicate with Quality supervisor/manager, shift supervisor, and company managers when non-conforming processes and/or product are identified.
Carries out all job duties, maintaining safe work habits and GMP guidelines.

Qualifications

Required Education/certification:

Successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program, technical school training program, or company-provided training program required.

Required Experience:

Thorough understanding of machinery and mold creation.
Understands general part drawings and tolerances.
Knowledge of the use of measuring instruments: caliper, micrometer, and drop gauges.
Thorough understanding of applicable safety rules.

Physical Requirements:

Involves sitting, standing and/or walking, with frequent ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound perceiving their nature.
Ability to extend hands or arms in any direction. Repetitive motions, physical ability to sustain movements of the fingers, wrists, hands or arms.
Hearing, ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
Ability to express or exchange information by means of spoken word.
Must able to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity) and see colors.
Must be able to maneuver safely around moving equipment and/or in congested manufacturing areas.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves/boots, etc.
Exposed to various packaging materials, raw ingredients, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
