Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree and either be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a coding background, or hold certifications as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). This role involves attending and presenting CDI data at revenue cycle meetings and ensuring accurate inpatient coding practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and present CDI data at monthly, bimonthly, and quarterly revenue cycle meetings.
- Oversee and manage timekeeping processes for the department.
- Utilize inpatient coding experience to ensure compliance and accuracy in clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance documentation practices and improve patient outcomes.
- Provide feedback to improve documentation standards.
- Stay current with coding regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Either: Current RN license OR RHIT/RHIA certification
- Strong background in inpatient coding
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
