Job Title: Controller 
Location: Hybrid- Alpharetta, GA  (Remote with occasional in-office requirements) 
Pay: $110-145K (depending on experience) 
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) 

Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization by managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. This role will be pivotal in supporting the company's expansion and further development of the accounting department, ensuring strong financial governance, and providing strategic financial insights to the executive leadership team. This position will be supporting current business processes, as well as leading and managing a growing accounting department.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. 
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP. 
- Oversee project-based revenue recognition, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. 
- Prepare and present financial statements, forecasts, and budgets to senior leadership. 
- Partner with department heads to analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights. 
- Manage cash flow, ensuring the company maintains adequate liquidity to meet operational and growth needs. 
- Support the optimization of NetSuite to enhance financial reporting and analytics capabilities. 
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including financial modeling, fundraising efforts, and M&A due diligence. 
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. 

Accounting:
-Support our part time accounting manager with Project billing, including invoicing and pay applications.
-Support with SaaS billing, including monitoring subscription periods of company software and 3rd party software
-Understand and implement Project cost accounting for employee and subcontractor time and expenses.
-Support with Purchasing from vendors and payment of vendors.
-Support with Billing and accounting for software license and support agreements with customers

Budgeting & Forecasting: 
   - Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections in partnership with leadership. 
   - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure financial goals are met. 

Compliance & Risk Management:
   - Ensure timely and accurate filings for taxes and other regulatory requirements. 
   - Manage relationships with outside CPAs, banks, and other financial institutions. 
   - Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks. 

Strategic Finance Support: 
   - Provide actionable insights to support business decisions, operational efficiency, and profitability. 
   - Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to drive long-term financial strategies and goals. 
   - Support merger and acquisition (M&A) activities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements 
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 
- 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles, with 3 years in a leadership role. 
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. 
- Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial compliance and audits. 
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. 
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. 
- Experience in the technology, data analytics, or SaaS industry is required.
