Job Title: Insurance Verification and Authorization Representative

Pay: $18-20/hr.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Insurance Verification and Authorization Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations, and ensuring that all necessary information is provided to healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate timely and accurate billing. You will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth processing of insurance claims and patient care services.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for both primary and secondary policies.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain accurate and up-to-date information regarding patient coverage.
- Confirm eligibility for specific services, procedures, or treatments with the insurance provider.
- Address discrepancies or issues with insurance coverage and work with the billing team to resolve them.
Authorization Management:
- Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for medical services, procedures, or treatments as required.
- Ensure timely submission of pre-authorizations and follow up with insurance companies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of authorization statuses and track pending requests.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all verification and authorization activities in the system.
- Ensure compliance with insurance policies, regulatory standards, and internal protocols.
Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient handling of verification and authorization processes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or authorization processes preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance plans, coding, and medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using EPIC preferred
