Controller / Senior Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Client facing accountant
Understands what the clients need and can meet with them to secure more business
Understands bookkeeping and accounting for small American businesses
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Applying transfers and wire payments
Preparing bank reconciliations
Reviewing journal entries to ensure accuracy
Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger

maintenance

Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary

Assist in recording intercompany allocations

Prepare and analyze Selling and Administrative reports for management

Communicate with representatives of all domestic and foreign entities

Reconcile intercompany trade and non-trade accounts to subsidiary ledgers

Play a crucial role during month end close; quarter end close; year-end close

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and

strengthen internal controls

Develop procedures to improve efficiency

Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

REQUIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Accounting AI experience also a major plus

Strong IT and computer skills with accounting principles

Strong analytical and accounting skills

Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge

Highly detail-oriented and organized

Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven

environment

Able to analyze financial records and interpret for other departments

Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience utilizing accounting and finance software (SAP experience preferred)

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Four to ten years of accountant experience
