Preschool Teacher (Ages 1 - 4 years) Part-Time Afternoons

Job Summary

At a high-level, Teachers are responsible for helping lay the foundation for learning and discovery that will last the rest of a child's life. They work directly with children every day and are responsible for each child's learning and development in a wide variety of areas including, but not limited to: language skills, social & emotional skills, cognitive development, personal hygiene, and academic areas such as shapes, colors, numbers, and the alphabet.

In most cases, the experiences and skills our Teachers gain, help create numerous career development opportunities along the way.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Creating a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment based on the developmental needs of each child
• Create fun and engaging lesson plans that align with the children's learning objectives and milestones
• Monitor the development of the children in your class across multiple dimensions
• Following a curriculum to facilitate various activities that help kids reach all their developmental milestones
• Ensuring the completion of daily activities & lessons in the classroom, such as: circle time, personal hygiene routines, meals, outdoor play, arts/crafts, and science experiments
• Maintaining a clean classroom & work environment
• Establishing positive and professional relationships with each child in your care, their parents, and all your coworkers

Minimum Qualifications

• High energy, positive attitude, and genuine love for children
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be 18 years old
• Clear FBI Criminal Background Check
• Ability to regularly lift children up to 40 lbs., sit on the ground, stoop, and be at "child-level"
• Basic computer skills (Windows & MS Office)

Preferred Qualifications

• An associate's or bachelor's degree in the field of child development, early childhood education, and/or psychology
• Previous employment at childcare centers
• Experience working with children ages 0-3 years old
• Previous experience with customer service (i.e. retail or restaurant)

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
