What are the responsibilities and job description for the Go Pastor position at Preston Trail Community Church?
"Grow and Go" is two-pronged strategy by which we at Preston Trail accomplish the mission of helping people find and follow Jesus. The Go Pastor is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the Go strategy.
The Go Pastor is also responsible for all aspects of leadership, development, and management of the Go Team – staff, volunteers and ministry. Being passionate about making disciples who make disciples and mobilizing our people to be on mission for God outside our doors – as they go, everywhere they go 24/7 is fundamental for the Go Pastor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the development, implementation and execution of the Go strategy
- Manage, mentor and develop staff – including facilitating Go Team meetings, consistent 1x1’s with staff, goal setting, and accountability to job performance and culture
- Oversee the development and management of all strategic partnerships – local, national and global
- Oversee and manage the Go Fund – allocations and distributions
- Create and implement a strategy to equip and mobilize our people to be on mission for Jesus as they go, everywhere they go 24/7
- Represent Preston Trail in our local, national and global communities
- Speak at services and events as needed
- Keep our Go initiatives in front of our staff and people – promote stories, create video and other content
- Help recruit, equip, lead and shepherd Go Team volunteers
- Develop collaborative working relationships with all of our staff and teams to support the Go strategy
- Develop Go stories and communication strategies
- Working with all of our ministries, help us reach the next generation
- Develop and manage the ministry budget
- Partner with the Digital Platform Director to develop and maintain the ministry webpages, platforms and systems
- Develop and maintain all team metrics, measures and reports
- Partner with the Next Gen and Discipleship teams to create and implement the Go Strategy into those ministries
- Member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
QUALIFICATIONS

- Committed to our team values of Self-Leadership, Positive Attitude, Team Mindset, Healthy Relationships, and High Performance
- Minimum of 5 years pastoral/ministry leadership experience in a large church setting
- Prior experience leading at the executive team or senior leadership team level
- Experience in church planting and missions (sending organizations) preferred
- Proven effective team leadership and staff development
- Able to cast clear and compelling vision
- 30,000-foot view, but able to implement strategy and processes to accomplish the goal
- Proven disciple-maker
- Team builder, recruiter, equipper
- High level of emotional intelligence
- Spiritually mature
- Experienced and effective public speaker
- Clear and effective communication skills – both written and verbal
- College degree required; advanced degree preferred
