JOB OVERVIEW
The Operations Associate is responsible for overseeing routine ministry events, ensuring building safety, security, and maintenance. They set up and reset event spaces, handle light maintenance and repairs, and support the Operations team with facility upkeep, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks. Additionally, they coordinate with staff, manage security protocols, assist vendors, and ensure all projects are completed efficiently while fostering a hospitable environment for events.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all routine weeknight ministry events to ensure safety, security, and proper maintenance of the building
- Facilitate all event setups as needed for our internal ministry events, and outside events
- Light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and/or ballasts, touching up paint, small drywall repairs, etc. (Report to supervisor any work that is outside of your capacity and requires an outside contractor)
- Provide repair and maintenance support for the Operations team including light mechanical, carpentry, electrical and plumbing repair projects
- Create and lead hospitable environment for every event and for every person connected to or attending the event
- Proactively respond to door lock schedules, setting up & resetting of rooms, removing trash and debris from rooms event space, and cleaning spills & messes
- Collaborate and coordinate activities of individual ministries
- Ensure all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time and on budget
- Complete service and work order requests and/or repairs requested by staff or volunteers while on-site
- Work closely with Preston Trail Staff to ensure coordination of activities and AV needs
- Attend weekly campus staff meetings (2nd Tuesdays per month 11:30a-1pm) to develop good working relationships with the campus staff and to better understand the activities and events happening on that campus
- Assist in overall security of the Church campus, including door locks, key security, asset protection, and enforcing all safety policies and procedures
- Aid and instructs vendors and team members in scheduling work, ordering material and completing assignment by a specified date
- Interprets job specifications, work orders and company policies to and enforces safety and security procedures
- Willing to learn the operation and maintenance of our facility work environment, building and other control apparatus and devices to include pneumatic, and direct digital control systems
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all systems and equipment
- Ability to set up machines and equipment
- Assist with weekly inter-campus deliveries
- Must be available days, evenings, and weekends based on event schedules

- Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Safely work in cramped spaces and at heights using ladders/lifts
- Must complete our assessment here within 2 business days of applying
- Experience with event management and knowledge for setting up different events
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced/ever changing event delivery work environment while refelecting the culture of Preston Trail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Apple operating system
- Effective and timely communicator (verbal and written) using email/texts/Microsoft Teams chats
- Strong organizational skills and take pride in maintaining well-ordered spaces
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate from a Vocational Institution and completion of apprenticeship in HVAC, plumbing and electrical repair preferred
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in the maintenance field and three years’ experience in the plumbing, electrical and painting trades, pools/spas (if applicable) OR an equivalent level of education and experience preferred
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
