Job Summary
Prestone is looking for a Cash Applications Specialist to join our Accounts Receivable team. This is a full-time position based at our Rosemont, IL office and will require a local candidate for hybrid schedule to work on-site 3x/week. The expected hourly rate for this position is $24-$27/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential Job Functions
- Accurately process and apply incoming customer payments to their respective invoices
- Ensure cash application and discrepancy investigation is done on a timely basis
- Extract remittance back-up from customer portals
- Reconcile and balance bank deposits (daily/weekly)
- Complete adjustment & netting requests
- Create deductions based on payment received
- Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure customer accounts are up to date
- Respond to service support requests/inquires
- Organize, and maintain appropriate files and documents

Qualifications
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, etc.)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Self-starter, with the ability to prioritize workflow and operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethics and high attention to detail
- Understands the general principles of accounting through previous experience in a related role, nice to have
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Prefer experience using or knowledge of large ERP system (SAP, Oracle E1 9.1 or better, AS400)
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Experience managing large retail customers (Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Ozark, AutoZone, etc.)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with a concentration on accounting/finance or related discipline is considered a plus, not a requirement
