Description
Assists the Director of Safety & Security in the administration of the security ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church and its entities (“PBC”).
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate an atmosphere of PBC safety and security to be everyone’s responsibility
- Assist with compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Assist in recruiting, vetting, training, and overseeing armed and unarmed contract security officers, staff, and volunteers for PBC
- Assist with training PBC staff on safety and security processes, procedures, and policies
- Provide physical protection of the church staff, members, guests, and PBC physical assets
- Strive to protect the reputation and perception of PBC through the safety and security ministry
- Assist in maintaining working relationships with local law enforcement agencies and school districts
- Assist with the scheduling of PBC campus security needs
- Maintain systems of incidents, accidents, and safety issues in accordance with approved methods and the appropriate standard of confidentiality
- Assist in overseeing security systems, surveillance camera systems, and radios for functionality, updates and needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- Bachelor’s degree or relative experience in a field related to this position
- Armed Guard permit issued through the State of TX and Designated Manager for Proprietary Security Organization in the State of TX Department of Commerce and Insurance, Private Protective Services Division
- Familiarity with current camera and intrusion alarm systems preferred
- Maintain an attitude of gratitude and encouragement
- Have an openness to share the Gospel and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office programs
- Regularly walking significant distances and using body parts for sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, hearing, reaching, seeing, and viewing while in and outdoors and lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Strong people skills with excellent written and oral communication ability
- Ability to work varying schedules including evenings and weekends
- OSHA knowledge and risk management experience helpful
