Description
Responsible for sonography functions, providing patient care, and assisting with medical obstetric ultrasounds at all Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (“PPC”) locations.
Responsibilities:
- Work with clinic staff and volunteers to coordinate flow of patients
- Perform limited medical screening and pregnancy tests as delegated by a Registered Nurse
- Perform limited medical obstetric ultrasounds in accordance with our delegated orders, as scheduled
- Complete initial patient assessments as delegated by a Registered Nurse
- Assist with patient/family education and provide instructions to patients as directed
- Maintain patient documentation according to clinic protocol, documenting and reporting test results
- Assist with follow up of patient's medical conditions and test results
- Collect and run lab tests as delegated by a Registered Nurse
- Incorporate principals of safety in all clinical operations by demonstrating safe use of equipment related to patient care and maintaining infection control measures with all patient contact
- May drive the mobile sonogram unit
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- Pro-life in word and pro-love in action
- Possess or be willing to obtain sonography training
- Comply with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- High level of confidentiality
- Experience working with volunteers a plus
- Commitment to continued professional development especially in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health issues.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
- Availability to work at least 2 evenings per week and every other Saturday
- Possess current driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for clearance to drive PBC owned/rented vehicles
- Ability to work at a desk with a computer screen for extended periods of time, while occasionally performing physical activities requiring moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, pushing/pulling a cart, and lifting up to 10 pounds without assistance
