Position Overview

The Driver / Helper is a key support role responsible for transporting equipment, materials, and team members to and from job sites. This role ensures timely delivery and pickup, vehicle cleanliness, and field support as needed. While primarily focused on driving, this position also assists landscape crews with basic tasks and helps maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Job Duties

Driving & Transportation

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport crews, tools, and materials to and from job sites.

• Ensure timely delivery and pick-up according to daily schedules.

• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any issues promptly.

Field & Shop Support

• Assist crews in loading/unloading equipment and materials.

• Support on-site teams with manual labor as needed (e.g., mowing, operating a weed eater).

• Run errands to suppliers or vendors as directed by the Fleet Manager or supervisor.

• Assist with organization of the yard, warehouse, and storage areas.

Safety & Maintenance

• Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws while operating vehicles.

• Ensure materials are properly secured during transport.

• Assist in basic maintenance of tools and equipment when in the yard.

• Notify the Fleet Manager of any maintenance needs or incidents immediately.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Driver’s License with no accidents in the past 5 years (required).

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, trailers, and other company vehicles

• Reliable and punctual with strong time-management skills

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and materials is a plus

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
