The Welder works directly with plant management in the repair, replacement, or modification of plant facilities. Welder is responsible for the upkeep of all company facilities, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines. The position of Welder is part of fabrication and generally reports to the Production Manager. Depending upon the product mix on the production schedule, the Welder may work independently or may have others in the yard that may or may not directly report to the Welder.

Description Of Responsibilities
Welder
- Review blueprints and shop drawings to ensure the proper use, cutting, and bending of the specified material.
- Coordinates with the QC Dept. to ensure the fabricated steel products meet or exceed specifications and fits properly in production Beds.
- Fabricate jigs as required
- Sets up jigs for steel cages
- Layout racks as necessary
- Welds cages and tie wiring rebar as necessary
- Tags and loads cages as required
- Ensures meeting of daily cage production schedule
- Maintains tack-welding certification
- Puts away all tools and cleans work area at the end of each shift.
- Assists Yard Department in maintaining a neat and clean yard area.
- Perform all tasks assigned by Management in a timely manner.
- Adhere to and support all Quality Control and Safety Standards, as well as all Company policies.
- Reports to work on-time, physically and mentally ready to work, and operates all tasks in a safe manner.
- Responsible for all other duties, roles and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor(s) or Plant Manager.
Qualifications
- Understanding of Mig and Arc welding
- Working knowledge/use of general hand and power tools
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with little to no supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 – 5 years Welder experience
- Experience in the Prestress/ Precast Concrete Industry is a plus
