Position Title: Quality Control Technician
Location: Prestressed Concrete, Newton, KS
Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old
Position Type: Full-Time, Mid-Level
Description:
As a Quality Control Technician at Prestressed Concrete, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our concrete products. Building upon the foundational skills developed as a Quality Control Technician 1, this mid-level position requires approximately 1-3 years of experience and an ACI certification. You will be responsible for overseeing more complex quality control tasks, mentoring entry-level technicians, and contributing to process improvements. This role offers opportunities for advancement to the Quality Control Technician 3 and Quality Control Manager positions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced quality control inspections and tests on concrete samples, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Supervise and mentor Quality Control Technician 1 staff, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks and development.
- Review and validate the accuracy of measurements, calculations, and blueprints used by the bed crew.
- Lead the evaluation of concrete mix designs and ensure consistency with project requirements and specifications.
- Develop and implement process improvements based on quality control data and feedback.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex quality issues, working with senior technicians and management to resolve them.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of quality control activities and prepare reports for management review.
- Assist in training and onboarding new Quality Control Technicians, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in quality control or related fields is preferred.
- ACI certification is required for the Quality Control Technician position.
- 1-3 years of experience in quality control within the concrete construction industry.
- Proficiency in quality control testing procedures and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and enforce quality control procedures.
